These steps are safe: they do not delete photographs or change the original RAW file.
Locked frames are not appearing
Confirm the frames are protected or locked in-camera.
Rescan the card and compare the total and Locked counts.
If the lock flag did not survive the camera or card workflow, choose All photos and select the frames manually.
Metadata is not ready to send
Select the photograph and open the IPTC panel.
Fill the fields marked required by the active wire-service setup.
Wait for Written to file, then run Send Check again.
A code does not expand
Confirm the Code Replacement file is enabled for this assignment.
Type both wrapping backslashes, for example \10\.
If two files contain the same code, check their priority in Setup.
FTP or SFTP does not send
Open the connection and run Test Connection.
Check the selected photo count and resolved destination path.
Open Transfers for the server response, then retry the failed item manually.
AI Caption help
Get AI Suggest ready.
For AI Caption in the upcoming 1.1.1 release: open a photo → IPTC → Caption → the question-mark button beside AI Suggest. The status explains what is preventing generation.
Apple Intelligence is still preparing its model
Apple manages the model download. Keep the device on Wi-Fi and connected to power, and check Apple Intelligence setup in system settings. On Mac, use the setup buttons in PressKit to open Siri settings, Storage, or Software Update as directed by the status.
On iPhone or iPad, follow the setup guidance in Settings. Return to PressKit and choose Check Again. PressKit cannot force the download or show a reliable completion time.
AI Suggest requires macOS 27, iPadOS 27, or iOS 27 or later, compatible Apple Intelligence hardware, and a ready model that supports image understanding. Device, language, and regional eligibility also depend on Apple Intelligence availability.
Check the exact status beside AI Suggest. Manual captioning, templates, and Code Replacement remain available when AI is unavailable.
Does AI Caption work offline?
Yes, once the system model is ready and the photo is available locally. Caption generation uses Apple Foundation Models on the device. Photos and prompts are not sent to a cloud AI service, and no API key is needed. The initial model download needs a connection.
How should I check an AI draft?
Verify names, location, event details, date, and photo credit against your reporting. AI can make mistakes and cannot establish a person's identity from a face. Add the missing facts, refine the draft, and review it before sending. An existing caption is previewed before you choose Replace Caption.
When you contact support
